Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and I'm excited to be a part of it.

I was 5 weeks postop on February 6.

I've lost 30 pounds so far, but I've been stuck at 250 for about a week and a half.

I'm trying not to get discouraged (or be irrational), but is it possible to hit a plateau so soon?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello and welcome to the losers bench. I am only 9 days post op but have seen a lot of people hitting stalls even at 3 weeks post op. Seems to be a very normal thing. Congratulations on your 30 lbs loss! That's awesome. For what I gather,we hit stalls to allow our bodies to catch up with the weight loss we have had. Some say up ur calories a little or up ur Protein intake and this may jump start losing again. Good luck to you and great job.

Thank you skinnygirlinside!! :)

I hit my Protein goal everyday, so I'm thinking maybe up the activity?

It's just been so cold and gross outside. No excuses!!!!

Good luck to you on your journey!

I stalled at 250 also it will pass be patient your body is adjusting. I was not getting enough calories in when I increased them or hit my daily mark of 800 It broke and I lost weight again. Also Water is very important , make sure you get all that in. Oh and I was constipated! If your not going get a laxative to help.

Keep up the great work :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
