Fat burners

Recommended Posts

I haven't. I'm not sure "fat burners" really burn fat anyway, I'm guessing not or we wouldn't be on here. Why do you take them for your workout...for energy perhaps? The one or two times a month I just can't get going or feel like going to the gym, I will have a little caffeine to get my butt in gear, but that's really rare that it happens. That may be similar to you taking the fat burners, however, some coffee or other caffeine is a little cheaper. :)

The only thing those will do is burn a hole in you wallet!

BA dump bump!!!

Really trust yourself and your sleeve, exercise, eat right and it will turn out great! :)

If you do plan on taking them, maybe check with your Dr to make sure there are no negative interactions with your sleeve. Better safe than sorry.

I think the main affect they have is to raise heart rate and blood pressure, correct? But working out also does that, so to me taking pills while you workout would be redundant. You want to burn fat while working out, so you need to tap into those fat reserves....you don't want artificial stimulants fueling your workout and leaving the body fat untouched. That's my thoughts anyway.

I meant to add...with proper nutrition and hydration you'll have all the energy you need to workout. At first it may be tough, but once you get going you get more energetic every week.

I think fat burners can be used it addition to a clean eating plan and exercise in order to multiply effect on fat burning. I do not see any issue with using them to help people lose a little faster, especially when they are close to goal. There is only so much exercise you can do before reaching point of diminishing return once muscles reaches maximum efficiency. However, you are correct in stating more exercise can help blast the fat, such as longer duration, HIIT or increasing weights. I am all for people using whatever tools they have available to help reach goal, even sanctioned diet programs like WW meetings if that helps.

Any fat burner you buy OTC doesn't do anything for burning fat. It elevates heart rate and body temperature (thermogenics) for the effect. I'd have to question any Dr. who said it was ok to use a stimulant of said nature anytime after WLS since the caloric restrictions would hinder the bodies ability to work with the supplement. (Edit: Any over the counter "fluff" supplement") Being on a very low calorie diet and adding caffeine and whatever else they throw in for good measure may have some pretty severe negative effects on your body. Your body will eventually grow accustomed to the caffeine and such in the pills, so you'll have to up the dosage to keep that effect going, adding more and more, because most people are ignorant to "cycling" supplements.

To be honest, you'd probably be better off just adding in pure caffeine pills you can find at CVS, Wal-Mart or any grocery store in the supplement section. The FDA doesn't regulate fat burners, which frankly I think the FDA isn't all that great, but still...if they won't touch them, that says something. Ephedra was banned, but most fat burners now include Ma Huang, which has nearly an identical chemical make up of Ephedra, and hey, it creates the same problems, cool how they can still supplement things with a different name, but same reactions and such right? If you're just looking for energy, there are things out there I could recommend, caffeine pills being one, Yohimbine HCL being another, DMAA, or some good old fashioned BCAA complexes pre workout, you'll get much more out of a BCAA stack than any fat burner as it'll aid in recovery as well. Creatine can also help in both areas, fueling you for your workout and providing increased blood and Water flow to your muscles to aid in recovery and repairing the torn fibers.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
