You have to put in the effort also. Remember your sleeve is only a tool. The sleeve will work. You are not a failure. Don't give in because it is too early to say that. Eat your Protein first and remember to get in your fluids. Stop eating things that you shouldn't. If you do, then you will set up yourself for failure later. You are definitely going to lose weight because you can't eat the amount you used to, but you need to do it right. Try to eat the right things instead of the wrong things. Message me if you have any questions. I had the surgery a year ago and have lost 106 lbs and am still losing. I have messed up along the way, and I have learned from it. Good luck.

Not to sound harsh, but it's not the sleeve that's not working. 25 pounds in a month is outstanding. Be patient and have faith in your choice.

You are really early out. It takes time to get the hang of it. The weight loss for me has been sporadic, which can be very frustrating. Do a search for 3-week stall on this site and you will find tons of people that are experiencing what you are. We all lose weight differently and at a different speed. I am a little bit of a slow loser, but I am losing and you will too. Back up to the basics and follow your nutritionist's plan. You will see results.

The sleeve:

Restricts the amount you can comfortably eat at one sitting.

Possibly cuts down your hunger.

The sleeve does not:

Make food choices for you.

Tell you when and how much to eat.

Automatically and magically remove fat.

Make you exercise, drink Water, take Vitamins.

Give you motivation.

Keep you from getting discouraged because the fat is not coming off fast enough for you..

Keep you from stalling.

Keep you from eating enough small Snacks to maintain your fat and even gain weight.

to piggy back on everyone else, the sleeve is definitely a tool not a "quick fix". also, if you aren't eating healthy and exercising how can you expect to lose weight? 25 lbs in a month is great which is about how much i've lost also. i've started back doing zumba 3-4 days a week and light weights. you still have to put in the work in order to have success. good luck!

I justed wanted to say that 25 pounds in your first month is awesome! Way to go, hon!!! Woo hooo!!! You should totally be celebrating that victory! Go get your nails or hair done to celebrate!!

And, I agree with everything these folks who've already posted are saying. And I will say that you can see a difference in you based on those two pictures you posted. I struggle sometimes with seeing a change in my appearnace, and I'm down 75 pounds.

Work that sleeve!! Eat clean, eat your protien, drink your liquids, go for a few walks... heck, walk laps at your favorite mall and window shop!! Park farther out.... whatever it takes to get you to add exercise to your day. Best of luck to you! Hang in there!!!

At this point you aren't even eating regular food. Get Protein and liquids in and make good choices. Choices should be easier now, but you have to choose wisely.

315 surgery day 302 and now in 281.4 jump start my weightloss

hun

reassurance/help is on the way :)

there is NO WAY that the sleeve won't work - 85% of your tummy is gone, gone and gone

since your tummy is so small - you should be able to eat only "x" amount (whatever your NUT says)- you should ONLY eat that small amount (ie 1/3 cup)

DON'T eat anymore than your NUT tells you

very important - DO NOT "graze" - which means.....

NO eating between meals - eating here and there during the day when you are not supposed to, basically just plain over eating, eventually "possibly" causing you to gain weight - or not lose !!!!

feeling depressed, incorrectly telling yourself you are a failure - get over it ;)

You are NOT a failure

you showed your intelligence by having the WLS - knowing you must lose weight to get healthy.

you must follow all the basic rules - Water is very important - are you following that ok? if not, you must try harder

stop drinking 1/2 hr before you eat

DO NOT drink during meal (or snack) DO NOT drink for 45-60 minutes after you eat

you lost 13 lbs pre-op, another 20 lbs after WLS - look at the whole picture - you weigh 33 lbs less than you use to. WooHoo!!!

please don't get discouraged :(

you need to remember you have a long road in front of you while losing the weight - but then.... you must still eat correctly for the REST of your life-but you can and WILL do this for your own good/health and happiness

No one ever promised you a "rose garden"

but you CAN do this - i have confidence in you - i can see B) you are a winner!!

Stop eating those "nasty" foods

why are they in the house anyways??

if your response is "you have kids and a boyfriend/husband (both? ) - oh well - they don't need all that junk either

clean your kitchen cupboards, pantry - get rid of all "those" things. don't need temptation around

eventually - you will be able to have a "bite or two" of a "goody" - but moderation - and for now i would nix any fattening food :(

EVERYTHING that the above people/sleevers' (and the ones to follow) have said are true - (we are all very smart ;) )

suggestions are great!!!!

but you must work hard too - you didn't go to bed on a friday night, waking up monday morning with an extra "million" lbs - won't come off in a weekend either

gmnatbat gave many great responses to what the sleeve will do, and what it unfortunately will not do

do or do not there is no try

DO stick to all the rules with the sleeve, do have confidence in yourself - and "DO" tell yourself you are not a failure

the sleeve gives one more amazing thing

HOPE

you now have the chance to lose your weight, and become healthier and happier for the rest of your longer life with your sleeve

take care bud

good luck

my hand is holding up a glass of Water toasting to your success :)

Just a thought... it is possible your initial weight loss was due to dehydration? A single gallon of Water weighs more than 8 pounds. My guess is you are replacing the lost fluids (gaining 'good' weight) at the same rate you are losing fat. Give it another month and see what happens.

Don't give up you have an amaizing tool to beat this! Throw out everything your not suppose to have, thats what I do in my house. If its not there I dont even think about it. If you crave sweets try pudding thats sugar free. If you want salty pringles has 0 fat chips that are 16 crisps for 120 calories BUT dont eat these everyday. As everyone else said Protein first eggs, turkey,chicken,fish,tuna...Drink your Water or you will think your hungry but its just thirst. And if you are always hungry it may be acid, take an antiacid. You can do this! Go to you tube and search before and after vsg surgery that always helps me keep my eyes on the prize. Stay strong you git this :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
