feeling faint

Recommended Posts

Hello, has anyone experienced feeling faint when getting up from a sitting position or from the bed? The last couple of weeks have been difficult for me, due to many leg cramps while sleeping and being consipated for many days. I do admit i dont drink enough Water (only about 5 cups a day). My NUT also said in low in Iron and thamin. Any recommendation. A little background-Iam 33 years old. I was sleeved 8 months ago. I was 265 and now 151. I eat well and excercise 1 hour a day. I drink B12, multi vit, B1 , Calcium and iron.

Are they doing anything for your deficiency? What are they suggesting? Low Iron is not good and can very well be the problem. Whilevo was anemic, I became very very sick and would pass out. Don't fool around.. Ask your dr

You're not alone......I'm 33 and 6 weeks out...I've felt dizzy very often when standing quickly post-op....I even blacked out once. Fortunately, nothing was out of whack with my blood work....but do get checked out, we're all different.

Mine was a pretty classic sign of low blood pressure....which i never had or have a problem with. My providers and I concluded due to the abrupt Fluid shifts post-op, quick weight loss, and my vasculature trying to play "catch up".....blood wasn't always getting to my head quick enough when standing up. It has gotten better, but I still get dizzy spells here and there. We're hopeful it will self resolve.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
