Hi, I had surgery on the 21st of January so I'm almost 3 weeks out and I'm worried my calories are too high. I am on puréed foods now and I am getting about 800-900 cals a day. I have been at the same weight for almost a week. All together I have lost almost 40lbs so far, 26 of those were Pre op.

Just wondering how many calories people were getting at this stage?

You'll be right Beth. The calories / amount off food drops through the floor when you start eating 'real' food.< /p>

40lbs in 3 weeks - nice work!!

I also had surgery on the 21st. At the full liquid stage I was told my calorie goal was 600-800 and now I am on puréed my goal is 1000. It is very hard to get my Water and my calories in. I start soft food in Tuesday.

I was also sleeved on the 21st. I have never been over 800cal in 1 day but come very close everyday. I am sticking to 6-800cal, 80+ Protein and less than 30g carbs a day. I don't monitor anything else but those 3. I walk about 45min a day and as of today am down 30lbs since surgery.

I plan to start lifting weights in another 2 weeks and will probably up my calories to around 1000-1200 but can easily see myself burning 600cal a day at the gym

If you want to keep your calorie intake at 900 I would walk 20mins every day... make sure your getting your Protein, plenty of Water and keep those carbs under 40g IMO.

Don't be worried just yet. I've gone through the same thing about 3 times in the past 6 weeks since surgery. My weight will drop constantly for a few days and then for 4 - 6 days I'll stay at the same weight. I think my body is going through a process of adjustment. It's not use to being on such a low calorie diet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
