Increased calories=weight loss

Recommended Posts

How about just having a full day of indulging. Like I said dont over do it and make urself sick but splurge for a full day on things that taste good but may be high calorie. This ought to get ur body confused.

I think that would be a bad idea, for people who have binge eating issues at least. I had half a table spoon of regular sour cream last night with dinner, sometimes i will have 2%, greek yogurt or a small piece of chocolate. Not over doing it is understandable, but a whole day can lead to a whole week, month etc...its better to make small minor healthy choices.

Ok I'm going to jump in a minute! Adding extra calories doesn't necessarily mean high fat ice cream type foods.. It could be just adding an extra snack like some nuts or a piece of cheese etc...

I say that because at this point for me at least eating ice cream would be a slippery slope.

Exactly. And she was sleeved jan 21st, less then three weeks ago. Not even in a mushy stage yet

Laura, eating ice cream for me would be like a crack addict relapsing....after a brain surgery and rehab

Exactly, whats the point of sleeving your stomach if you are going to go buck a$$ wild and screw your weight loss with slider foods? Not worth it

I think the point im trying to make is add a little variety to ur diet for a day, more than just Protein shakes and Clear liquids. I didnt know u were JUST sleeved, maybe u should relax and not focus on the scale, the weight will come off

Yes!

It's not even been a month for her!

But sweetncurvy when we are all further out like you, our relationship with food may change and perhaps there will be an ice cream treat once and awhile... :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
