This is the almighty spoon I used to shovel food into my mouth with before and now I use my two year old's spoon to eat my yogurt. It just makes me laugh. I can't wait for my body to resemble the skinny spoon! hahahaha

Really? That's weird, why would you want to be green and yellow?

Hope you're doing well post-op.

I am pretty happy actually. I just had my 1 week dr.s appointment today and everything is healing well. And I've lost 10lbs my first week with basically no exercise! I can't wait until the end of the month!

When is your date set?

Yellow, green as long as its not black and blue! But my bruising is almost gone so yeah skinny yellow green spoon sounds good to me. bwuahahahah

I am so happy for you, I am visual person, so I love the spoon analogue. I don't have a two year, but I am going to buy a baby spoon and place it near the stove to remember to eat small. By the way, LOVE your goals/rewards... I think I will borrow that idea too. So far, I have been buying my clothes in smaller sizes ( I can't pass a good clearance rack, so I buy the items... in a smaller sizes). The other day, I purchased a shirt two sizes small, the blouse is so pretty...I can't wait to wear it! Motivation!! Good luck to you. :D

I use my grandaughters baby spoons too, makes me more aware that I have to swallow less at a time. Guess I should use her sippy cup too as I still forget to take sips when drinking out of my normal glass lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
