I am mostly in the green zone but I do have the occasional yellow zone day where I am compelled to munch all day.

Carol

Ditto in most ways, but honestly think I am green zone in the morning and yellow by 12:00 and then not too bad in the evenings. PMS seems to be a big contributor to the munch all day and dream about chocolate! I have restriction even though no fill yet?? I have lost about 22 #s in 5 weeks. :)

I get my first fill the 20th, nervous I might not need one? I am losing, I am exercising feeling good.

I feel like I should be in the green for the amount of fills I have had - I have 7.5 in a 10 cc realize band but, I am HUNGRY!

I have very rare green zone days. But I have finally given up on my fills. I have had 14 fills and at 3.9cc in a 4 cc band. When they put me to 4cc, I close up. So, I just focus on eating right and it seems to be working.

I do know that I can't eat as much as I could pre-band. But still get hungry about 2 hours later, but I grab an apple or Protein shake and it seems to be working.

All and all, I am happy with my band and have no regrets.

They give each patient that chart when you check in at my surgeons office each visit. When you go back in the room you tell them which one you fall under and they either fill you or dont... Never an arguement about yes you need a fill or no you don't. The doc lets you decide and guides you if you're unsure.

I am in the green and have been there since my last fill in October.

I hope Monday when I go in for my fill he sees that I am in the black hole and shuts it up for awhile!!!

The chart is on the wall in each exam room, but he has always ask me a series of questions, and looked at my weight loss, and discussed with me what to do.

If anything he has pushed for me to try more restriction, when I preferred being loose. I have been 100% empty since last April, almost a year, and it is catching up----so time to FILL ER UP!!

I was way, way in the red zone for a LONG time and making myself (and my husband) crazy. The reflux and night coughing got super bad. I told myself I just needed to "do better" but really, my esophagus and stoma got way inflamed and it was awful.

So finally I admitted I needed an unfill.

As of about a week and a half now, I have been in the green zone and I feel like a new person. I got my life back. And I'm losing weight again (weird bit of counter intuitive there, you'd think I'd lose like crazy being so tight, but that wasn't true)

So for everyone here....really, really be careful with the fills and if you start to drift into the red zone, REALLY keep an eye on it and don't hesitate to get an unfill if you need it!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
