Encouragment please-Day 4 of pre-op diet

Recommended Posts

I'm on day four and I'm proud that I'm sticking to it. Yesterday was my best day but today I'm so tired and really blue. I know Mother Nature is gonna strike soon so that's partly why I feel like this. I'm not going to stray I know that. I drive for my job and I see all these fast food restaurants and it just makes me sick. No wonder we didn't have a chance. I will stick it out but I would really appreciate some encouragement right now. Ok rant over.

Lol i no the fast food places can be hard but once you get to the solids part of all this and you are able to eat good things and feel lighter and healthier youll be DISGUSTED by fast food. Thats just me though. Time really does fly by after the first week. Your doing great and keep it up!!! Im 2 months out and have lost close to 40 pounds!! Good luck and congrats

I'm on day one of my pre-op diet, and it is tough... but we can and must do this! I'm sure that it will get easier (but never EASY) as our bodies adjust to this drastic change.

I'm on day 5 now and it has gotten easier. There was so much food today at a work meeting. I didn't have a bite. I'm at the point where I just want to fill my tummy and I really don't care how. So I was satisfied with my Protein Drink. Onward and upward.

I'm on the same page! I'm on day 6 now and I don't care what I have to eat. I just won't eat oatmeal or creame of wheat, I just can't. Thank God for Protein Shakes and fat free Popsicles. I just found I also like low sodium creame of chicken Soup, it fills the void. I'm so ready to do the surgery!

I am on day 11 of pre-op full liquids. I, too, am relying mainly on Protein Shakes, at work (I'm a teacher) but when I get home from work, I mix Jarrow's unflavored Protein (Amazon.com) with unheated Progresso Basil Tomato Soup in a shaker then heat it up. In my opinion, It does not affect the flavor. I really enjoy it. I finish my evening with 1 or 2 sugar free popsicles (Walmart) which are delicious...lots of great flavors. I tend to chew them which satisfies my urge to have something to chew something crunchy. The 1st weekend was a little challenging, being at home more. But,since I started the pre-op phase, I've lost an additional 8 pounds. That has helped me stay on the straight & narrow. I am soooo ready for this surgery which will be on Valentines Day.

Hang in there! It has seemed to get easier!

Silly question, but can the Protein shakes be mixed with just Water, or can I blend them with skim milk?

Thanks...

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
