Hi. I am currently working through the 6 months required for insurance. Like most everyone else, I have been having a hard time with the Protein shakes. I did find that I love the Premeir Protein Shakes from costco. I just went to a Sleeve support group and the nurse said that we can't have the whey Concentrate for a couple of months. I thought it seemed like a lot of people on here use Premeir. Has anyone else been told only whey isolate? My doctor only recommends powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury and Syntrax nectar. I have a hard time with both kinds.

Who has used Premier Protein and been successful?

I tried a lot of Protein Drinks before I landed on premier, o won't go to anything else now..

Some people have to use the isolate cause it might be easier on their stomachs. It has 30 grams of Protein so I will continue with it I am 4 weeks post op

I couldn't choke down the unjury or Syntrax powders, they all made me gag. My dietician recommended Premier Protein shakes and I''ve been using them exclusively.

Everything I tried made me sick until a friend gave me one of her chocolate premier drinks. I actually liked it! It's the only Protein Drink I can take!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
