Curious about the surgery and pregnancy

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am looking into getting the surgery. A friend of mine got hers done a year ago and she has lost 70lbs and still counting. I am not morbidly obese at all-my BMI is about 34. I am wondering if if there is anyone who got the surgery and then got pregnant immediatly after the procedure?

There is a hospital up the street from my work that I am going to contact for an initial consultation but I am worried about starting a family. My question is that should I wait to have the surgery until after I have a child of have it done before??

My husband and I want to have a baby by next fall.

Please help, any suggestions would be great!!!:help:

I asked this question of my surgeon in the first seminar I attended. You can choose to be unfilled during pregnancy if that is your desire, however, a pregnant women only needs 300 extra calories per day (which could be one can on Ensure, ect). Otherwise, the lapband will not affect pregnancy whatsoever. I chose lapband surgery because I want to get pregnant within the next year at a much healthier weight, and hopefully prevent an unhealty pregnancy. My preop BMI was 49. Good luck with your decision!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
