Me too, I am still anxious about eating too much. I've come close and felt pressure and discomfort, but no vomiting. So I eat sloooow. It took me 30 minutes to eat a medium banana today.

Okay I feel better that I'm not the only one! I just hope we'll be able to eat a little faster & a little more one day... Even though I'm sure we'll be able to! :)

This is the end of my 4th week and I am on pureed foods. I probably do not puree them enough, because they still feel thick and feel like they are sitting on my chest. And we aren't to drink anything to wash it down.....

I have not eaten much at all either, because one pureed dish, and only an ounce or two, is all I can stomach. I have a fear of vomiting, too.

My nutritionist did say to take at least 30 minutes to eat something. I did take a walk soon after outside and that helped a lot (even in 30 degree temps - refreshing to say the least). So take your time eating, and make sure you are walking each day.

this slow thing is so frustrating! i don't have time for this slow stuff. i haven't thrown up yet (thankfully) but if i eat too fast i get like a pain in my throat.

my surgery was 4 weeks ago today! i can start eating pretty much anything tomorrow.

i struggle to get my Protein in! it seems like the thought of most food makes me nauseous, even food i was eating last week! i don't know what to do and i feel like i'm out of options!

what has everyone else been eating? canned chicken/tuna, Protein shakes, eggs, deli meat - all makes me nauseous just thinking about it and when i eat them i can take 2 bites and then have to stop - not because i'm full but just because it is gross to me! anyone else experiencing this?!

Yes, I experience the same thing. I do not get enough protein each day. Can only eat 1-2 oz of anything which is not considered a "meal," but cannot get anymore down. Then it takes awhile for my stomach to feel "settled." I wish I could get more Water down, too.

I am really hoping this is just a phase that will pass as time goes on.

I am on the same boat, can't get my Protein and Water in, after 2oz food, i feel full, if I eat more then I feel sick and want to throw up. I eat so slow that it takes forever to finish, and then have to wait 30 mins to drink otherwise i can feel the pressure in my chest as it goes down. I finally stopped using the medicine cup & can have 3 bigger sips but not enough to get 64oz. On top of all this, the scale stopped moving ;(

don't worry about the weight! i had a week and a half stall and then started losing again. i am just waiting for the next stall!!! plus we started out at lower weights so it comes off slower!

hopefully this gets better soon!

I'm 4 weeks post op

Preop- 200

Day of surgery 190

Now 176- and it has been 176 for long time

I am noticing inches coming off...but scale is stuck. Fitness pal calories 400-500 average. MD is okay with 40oz minimum coz I get nauseated when I force fluids. Protein ia a hit and miss, but at least 40 grams with one isupure a day. On a good day additional 30 grams with Protein shake.

I'll just stay patient, but it's nice if I can see the darn scale move ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
