Are the Protein Shakes you guys drink whey based ? I have two different kinds I bought both are whey based and I find that they leave a film on my tongue...disgusting !! Maybe I need to try a different kind, based on something else maybe ?

Whey Protein has the fastest absorption rate which is recommended for us. If it is leaving a film you find unpalatable, keep searching. I drink the Premier Protein from costco. You can also get them at Sam's Club.
