condanchri 16 Posted February 6, 2013 Okay, I realize that I am NEWLY post op (sleeved yesterday afternoon), but I'm hoping someone can hero: every two hours or so, I have been vomiting in my mouth and swallowing it back down. I was just sound asleep, my mouth filled with acid/bile, and while waking me up at the same time, I swallowed it back down. They are giving me anti-nausea meds, but the nurse says this can happen, not a problem. Has anyone else had this happen?
doreen70 268 Posted February 6, 2013 Are you taking an acid reducer? Something like nexium, Prilosec, or protonix.
gmanbat 5,889 Posted February 6, 2013 This has happened to me if I eat too close to bedtime. It does wake one up. I have not taken it as a serious problem. Your stomach is mighty touchy right now.
condanchri 16 Posted February 6, 2013 No, I asked for an acid reducer but they said no. Maybe it was to soon from surgery. Maybe today. I am feeling slightly better. Thank you for the responses
suzthebrit 146 Posted February 6, 2013 I fully threw up for 24 hours after the surgery. Of course it was just bile/acid as I'd had nothing to eat for 48 hours. You'll be fine. Just take your time and walk, walk, walk.
Mandy124<3 0 Posted February 6, 2013 I was nauseous pretty much for 4 days. Mine was all the meds and having an empty stomach. I take prilosec and it helps with the acid and gas bubbles. It will get better. But its horrible, but good luck! I just had my surgery on 1/28/13.
