Okay, I realize that I am NEWLY post op (sleeved yesterday afternoon), but I'm hoping someone can hero: every two hours or so, I have been vomiting in my mouth and swallowing it back down. I was just sound asleep, my mouth filled with acid/bile, and while waking me up at the same time, I swallowed it back down. They are giving me anti-nausea meds, but the nurse says this can happen, not a problem. Has anyone else had this happen?

Are you taking an acid reducer? Something like nexium, Prilosec, or protonix.

This has happened to me if I eat too close to bedtime. It does wake one up. I have not taken it as a serious problem. Your stomach is mighty touchy right now.

No, I asked for an acid reducer but they said no. Maybe it was to soon from surgery. Maybe today. I am feeling slightly better. Thank you for the responses :)

I fully threw up for 24 hours after the surgery. Of course it was just bile/acid as I'd had nothing to eat for 48 hours. You'll be fine. Just take your time and walk, walk, walk.

I was nauseous pretty much for 4 days. Mine was all the meds and having an empty stomach. I take prilosec and it helps with the acid and gas bubbles. It will get better. But its horrible, but good luck! I just had my surgery on 1/28/13.
