Good luck to you...I was turned away when I was scheduled for an endoscopy 2 weeks ago. I had the tube down my throat and all...5 minutes later they woke me up. They told me my sleep apnea was too severe to be fully sedated. I called my pulm specialist right away for a clearance and pleaded to the gastro for a second chance because the surgeon wouldn't do the sleeve without a biopsy from endo...I got rescheduled right away...don't be scared! God is great all the time and He finds a way for anyone that believes in a better life.

Thanks for your words of encouragement :) I know my God is a mighty God and I have nothing to fear but I guess it's just part of being human!

You are absolutely right...I sat in the waiting room myself Googling away on my phone about bad experiences with and endoscopy...now I got this app...I might be able to look up more positive experiences. The best of luck to you...please update us with your progress!!

I was VERY nervous of this too. Previous to the endo I never had any surgery of any kind. It's a very easy procedure and they medicate you so you don't remember much or even care. You will be just fine....I promise!!

Totally aggravated !!!!!! So I have my drop me off at hospital and the plan is for my coworker to pick me up . Ok so I get dropped of , I go in and register while I am waiting a nurse comes out and calls my name. I get up to walk inside to be told I have to reschedule because the doctor has to do emergency surgery. So now I am 30 minutes away from home sitting in a lobby waiting for my ride.

That is so not acceptable. Docs usually have partners. One of them should have stepped in. We never turn patients away. Even when they show up prepped for colonoscopy on the wrong day. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
