When were you sleeved?

Jana' date=' sleeved 1/31/13[/quote']

I was sleeved last wed afternoon the 30th. This is my 7 th day of drinking. The past 3 have been a ton better than the first 3 and like everyone says... each day is better than the one before. The difference for me is that i am 60, live alone and wen i dont go let my dog in, he finally figures out to go through the dog door! So i answer/jump for no one. I get up when i want, nap, go to bed whenever i feel like it and cook for no one. You have a right to be tired. My gosh... Major surgery and a family to care for! Do all you can to get your nourishment, sit down if you can manage to get the kids to nap at the same time rather than think you need to use the time to catch up with the house... Yes i was a driven mom too... And get someone to take the kids a short time if at all possible and lie down for awhile!. By summer, you will be much thinner and will have tons of energy! This is one of those rough times but it will pass and you will all be better for it!

Thank you for your comments, I do have help who tell me to go lay down, it's hard to let my parents take over my job. But I know it's for the best, I was up tonight just helping out a d got really pale and knew I over did it. Mommies can't stop being mommies. Tomorrow I am down for sure :). I'm glad you're doing so well, I stayed in Mexico the extra 2 days to rest because I know how I am with needing to be hands on mom. My moms pretty bossy and puts me in my place :)

I had fatigue for about the first 7 days, then I felt fantastic, but I will say today at day 20 I'm not eating a lot and I'm not on liquids anymore and I'm dealing with being tired again. Should probably up my Protein.< /p>

Powerade zero is great too and has electrolytes. I love G2 as well. I also tolerate those better than Water. Girl 5 days post op is not anywhere near long enough time or you to have come anywhere near close to being at your pre op energy level.

I have had pretty good energy since the surgery. Tomorrow will be the big test, as I return to work. My doctor's protocol includes a very strict pre-op diet that is caffeine free. Thankfully I followed that and got my caffeine crash over before surgery or it would have been so much worse.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
