Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted August 18, 2007 Thank You April. She is pretty nervous. She is an RN and works in labor and delivery so she sees a lot of women coming with miscarriages. I told her most people have normal pregnancies. She will feel safer when she passes the 3 month stage. She is barely pregnant right now. If you count calories and carbs, you will lose a lot of weight. I did the Atkins diet before banding and lost 60 lbs pretty quickly. In that diet they tell you not to watch the fat, but you will lose better with low carbs and low fat. Do the Protein Drinks you're drinking have very many carbs? smilin_apple 0 Posted August 18, 2007 They have 44 carbs and 10g of Protein. I didn't think abour the Atkins...I guess I could try that again, I struggled with every diet I ever did, and that was one of them.
PigsRFlying 0 Posted August 18, 2007
OH dear! My nurse said do not drink any of the Protein drinks that are over 10 carbs!!
and to make sure that they have over 20 g's of protein!
NewBeginnings2018 81 Posted August 18, 2007 JC you look amazing!!! So trim. No one would ever guess you were overweight at one point. Way to go!
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted August 18, 2007 April, I think in my opinion, that is too many carbs. I lose weight best when I eat 20 grams of carbs per day or less. Chripy you look fabulous too. You don't look like you need to lose any more. You look like your a size 10-
BigHarleyGuy 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Check into Unjury Protein Shake. High Protein low carbs, sugar it is what my Doc recommended, and the choc. tastes pretty good. Jim
jcgrove29 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Thanks Chrispy, I thought the same thing when I saw your pic. You look so pretty but your camera was blocking your face. The bad news about this weight loss thing is that it is making a few of my ex-gfs want to come out of retirement. I guess I am going to have to be blunt and tell them to forget it, I did not do this for them I did this for me! How bout that for a bright outlook. Also tried out the Kangoo jump boots last night. They are crazy cool. I imagined it being what jogging while taking acid or something would feel like. JC
NewBeginnings2018 81 Posted August 19, 2007 Denise you are so nice and too kind. There is plenty more to lose, trust me. lol I'm not looking to be thin, just maybe a size 14 or a 12 if I'm lucky. I'm having a rough time lately being motivated. I don't know if it's because I've found someone I'm happy dating, or because I'm still dealing with the emotional stuff from losing my friend. I don't know, but I need to get serious again. My scale jumped 4 pounds this week, granted 3 were gone by today, but still. It's because I find myself eating to eat - not because I'm hungry. I know I could get full off a very small amount, yet I still keep eating. I get so frustrated with myself sometimes. grrrr.... So no Leona lately, huh? Girl's been hiding out with her new beau. lol Manatee, what did you decide about the date? JC that is too funny about the ex's. It always seems to happen doesn't it? I try to remind myself that they are ex's for a reason. lol. Any luck meeting any ladies lately?

Jim BigHarleyGuy - I will check that out thanks! This question is for anyone - Did you lose any weight prior to the surgery while on the liquid diet?
ShannonRT 1 Posted August 19, 2007 Kind-of OT, but has anyone ever tried Speed dating?
smilin_apple 0 Posted August 19, 2007 I haven't but I have always wanted to try it out. I have decided to wait until about a year after my surgery or at least when I have lost 100lbs. I think it will help my confidence and help break some of my shyness. Have you tried it ShannonRT
jcgrove29 0 Posted August 19, 2007 Chrispy, haven't had any luck. I have been spending so much time with exercise and with my son's Eagle scout project. Thank God, it is almost finished. I have not really been out in the real world, but that is ok, for now! Believe me, if they have an ex it is for a good reaason! JC

leedorr 0 Posted August 19, 2007 Yvonne I think you just need to take a breath, get through your divorce and care for yourself and your children. There are men who don't care about skin. There are clothes that can camoflouge your body. But please take care of yopurself and your children dduring the transition period.
