I am a newbie, only being sleeved on 1/28. I'm already amazed how I am not feeling hungry. I have to watch the clock to know when to eat( well drink). I did have some head hunger while doing things where I used to pig out like sitting in front of the TV.

My question is does this no hunger feeling last? Or will I start to feel hungry but only be able to eat smaller portions?

Thanks!

Same here. A month out and still no real hunger. It feels strange to have to "force" yourself to eat when you're not really hungry.

Same here, but today is a bit worse. I have to make myself eat. I just don't want to put something in my mout other than Water.< /p>

The hunger is different... less 'OMG I NEED TO EAT' and more 'I feel empty and I should have some food'.

I was sleeved on 12/10/12 and just recently have discovered that I have to remind myself that I have to eat. Before recently, I was "so hungry" and wanted to eat every thing I saw. I didn't, of course, and have come to realize that I had a huge case of head hunger. So glad to be over it now, but it is weird how different it is compared to my life pre-op.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
