Whats your average weekly loss?

Recommended Posts

I am 7 weeks out and my weekly loss is 3 pounds. I feel it should be more. I started at 218 and today im 196. So just wondering whats your average weekly loss to see if i might be doing something wrong. I know i dont always get the required Protein in but if thats the case, i cant help but to say "i could have just done Atkins. I power walk 1 hr 5-6x a week and barely consume carbs. Im a bit down, i really thought that i would be at about 45pounds less by 2nd month.

I also started at 218 on 12/13...I weighed 182.0 this morning. I'm also wondering about the slow weight loss, but I'm still happy it's a loss! I figure I'm about halfway to goal as dr wants to see me at 140 and I'd be happy at 150 so we'll split the difference at 145....at least I'll look at the goal then and decide! I'm 5'6" so we'll see.

I would be shrieking for joy if I was under 200 so early out :) Not to worry ladies - it will come off! numbers over time is where you start to see those numbers add up. I was feeling a bit down this past month because I felt I should be further along than I am, when I am close to being 130 lbs down - when I think of it that is a pretty kooky way to feel. Instead I am working hard to follow my nutritionists instructions, move more, and keep my chin up.

This won't ever end for me - even at goal.

Protein is the key ....eat more protein or drink the supplements......b12 also keep up your metabolism when you dont eat it puts your body into starvation mode then you hold to fat......2lbs a week is where you should be

2 pounds a week ? I thought it was supposed to be 20 pounds a month? Guess it depends.

There is no hard and fast rule. There is no minimum, no maximum, no average. The biggest way to set yourself up for disappointment is to turn this into a competition by expecting to keep pace with others. That's not how it works. We are all going to lose differently. Give yourself credit for the weight you've lost and don't fret over what hasn't been lost YET or you will be quite miserable during what should otherwise be a happy time. You're losing weight!!! Don't look for and find the negative in that. Focus on the positive. This time next year you'll be a skinny little happy healthy person. Maybe at goal, maybe not...but much better off than you are now so enjoy that ride.

I was sleeved 3 months ago. I had lost 50 lbs preop ( started out last June at 310 lbs). So SW was 260. I have lost 30 lbs post op! My surgeon is really happy with that loss! But it has taken me a month to lose 7 lbs! Everyone is different and lose at different rates. Yes I would love it if I lost more, faster, quicker! But I didn't gain it quickly! So I just have to do what I need to do. And this isn't a sprint!!! This is a marathon! My doc says I am his poster child for this surgery-- because of my attitude. I know I have a good attitude, as lots of people do on this site! Just don't start bearing yourself up! You are fabulous and just like the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady will win this race!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
