pedialyte

Recommended Posts

For those needing to get electrolytes after a hard workout, race or just from sleeve related dehydration, pedialyte is a good alternative to Gatorade at 10 calories/8 oz. It can be found at most stores that carry Vitamins and minerals.

Smart Water is also electrolyte enhanced. It's not a bad idea to make this part of your daily intake to keep things balanced during a low calorie consumption. There are also Mio electrolyte enhanced drops available.

Personally, I gag on pedialyte.. Reminds me of my college hangover days when I'm trying to get through the next day of classes ;-)

Yeah, I agree it is a little like drinking cough Syrup. To me, not so bad. I have drunk worse (eg MOM). Thanks for the other suggestions. I'll check them out. Does the Mio enhanced drops have caffeine in them? I prefer not to get something that also has caffeine in it because I already get my daily caffeine from a cup of coffee.

It says 0mg caffeine/ serving. So I'm guessing it contains less than a gram so they can claim 0. Pretty sure it doesn't have enough for you to tell though.

I use it in my smart Water because I'm a big baby about drinking plain water even while at gym.

I notice you're from LS.. I'm from Kenmore. I hope we all can maybe have a PNW picnic or something one day. Or support meetings once in awhile.

That would be great! My wife and I love picnics. Might I suggest the Seattle Woodland Park Zoo, over the summer so at least it will not be raining. LOL!

Did you get you surgery done at Swedish WLS Center or another WLS center? I have also heard NWWLS center in south Everett / mill creek area is also very good (off of I5 at 128th).

I've had all my surgeries in MX.. Well except the urgent ones to remove the band. And isn't "not raining in Seattle" an oxymoron? J/K I love WA and it would be great to get people and families together at Woodland Park

"Raining in seattle" is a misnomer. Statistically, the least amount of rain occurs on August 1st.

My favorite weather academic Cliff Mass summarizes it quite nicely:

Lol.. Like that link! But they forgot to put shorts, socks and sandles for summer... Or at least flip flops. It's so true that we change our clothes according to the calendar and not the weather

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
