Does 'plain' yogurt mean it can be flavored? Like yoplait red velvet cake fat free yogurt?

Hmmm ... not sure exactly what the question is.

Plain yogurt has a very neutral flavor. Yes, you can add anything you wish to it as a lot of people will add fresh berries and the like to it.

I suppose you could blend in a slice of red velvet cake, if you wanted to ...

If you purchased yoplait red velvet cake fat free yogurt, then it is not a 'plain' yogurt. But even with that, you could still add anything you wanted.

What is your concern?

I'm starting my stage 2 diet today and on my list it says 'plain fat free yogurt'. I bought a yoplait fat free yogurt with red velvet cake flavoring. Is this ok? Or am I only suppose to eat flavorless yogurt? Lol

Plain yogurt means plain like white color.....I did not eat plain. I ate flavored like cherry or something but just try not to eat the chunks of fruit. The only issue my doc says is the sugar in the flavored yogurt is harder for stomach to handle....good luck

nope. Plain is plain as plain, meaning the unflavored stuff. the fat free whatever is still not going to be the ideal choice because of the sugar, not the fat.

Try the greek yogurt less cals and sugar and more Protein than yoplait. Plain meaning there is no flavor they say this because the pieces of fruit can be harder to digest thats why they suggest plain. But as long as your looking at the label and getting something very low in sugar and calories than you should be fine.

How does anyone eat plain flavorless yogurt? Yuck.

The same way you will be eating many things that are not necessarily the tastiest thing from now on. You have to find ways to cope. You are eating for different reasons now. sugar will not aide you in your journey to lose weight. I am not one of these people who are going to tell you that you are going down a terrible path or whatever if you have some flavored yogurt but do consider this - if you cant stick to the rules now as far as sugar goes how are things going to go for you later on?

I'm guessing it probably means no chunks but sugar is a consideration as well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
