Head Hunger

Recommended Posts

Wow. I can't believe how powerful it is. I had my first fill a few days ago, and it takes less food for me to feel full, but I still want to eat. I mean, I really want to eat!

How does everyone deal with this?

Well, I have found that if I still keep eating the band will punish me for it... so that is how I handle it. If I am stupid enough to eat when I am not hungry, I deserve what I get.

Drink.

When my head is hissing that evil whisper in my ear,"eeeeeeeat something," I grab a glass of ice Water or Crystal Light and, most importantly--GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!

Back away from the refrigerator, Lady, and no one gets hurt.

I, too, have been amazed at how powerful the head hunger is. But I've also come to realize that when I just HAVE to have a candy bar, if I wait a few minutes (not easy), the craving goes away. I used to just give in instantly, so I never had a chance to find out that it would go away in a little while. I also use drinking a glass of Water and waiting a few minutes before deciding if I'm actually hungry or not.

I am punished with a PB if I eat too much. The head hunger is sometimes bothersome, but most of the time I am able to handle it. However, sometimes I annoy myself because I have actually gotten mad because something tastes so darn good and I just want to eat a little more of it, but I just can't. Hmmm, no wonder I am fat.

It took a while. The first six months are hardest. For me, the first year, but then I am more ornery than most. Find something else to do with your hands, suck on some sugar-free candy, etc. Journal about why you might be so eager to eat.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
