FAT if you don't...so they say! Well I have been stuck at this freakin' plateau for at least 2 months! So I decided to start exercising, because after all with diet and exercise you should loose weight. Right? Well I have been going to the park walking and jogging...yes me jogging, panting, sweating, dying, and jogging. ;)

I have been jumping on the scale and guess what. It ain't loosong no weight. To be honest I can't say inches either. So this is my thought process, if I sit around and not loose any weight, why work out. I think that I may be the sorriest excuse for a bandster. I am almost a year out and I have a grand total loss of 45 pounds. I must admit that I have not been following the bandster guidelines to the "T" but I am restricted enough that the only thing that I can get down that's bad is star buck frappacinos, milk shakes, and ice cream; which I don't indulgen in that often.

What is the deal!!!!!!!! I am getting so discouraged! Well let me back up. I have been doing the walking, running, jogging thing for about 2 weeks. Out of two weeks I have exercised 9 days.

Does anyone have any suggestions. I am getting desperate. I am ready for the weight loss phase to be over....I am ready to move on to "maintain".

I am open to any suggestions!

:cry

Birdee: Ever considered doing a juice fast to jump start the metabolism again? Also, are you drinking your 64 oz of Water every day? That is a huge catalyst in weight loss. Have you had your thyroid among other blood work done lately? Two weeks is not necessarily enough time to see a weight loss with the exercising. I have been at a plateau for a month now and just got a fill. I am trying to do a juice fast once a week and drink my water every day. Plateaus are difficult and they will come and go in this process. The thing to be thankful for is that you have NOT gained any. Everyone's metabolism is different. What works for some may not work for others. You just have to find what works for you. How much of a fill do you have? Have you discussed all this with your doctor? IF so what does he say? Are you keeping track of what your intake is? Maybe you need to get the program Fitday.com and start doing this. It is a real eye opener as to what you are taking in. Maybe too many fats, carbs, Proteins, etc. These all play a factor in how and how fast we lose weight.

These are just my opinion.

COngrats on the weight loss so far. Keep going you will succeed.

Birdee, Please don't give up! I'm also walking daily (and bike riding). I haven't worked up to jogging yet. I know in this heat and humidity, it's horrible! It's all I can do to drag in and hit the shower. I hate to sweat! But just think of that sweat as impurities and fat getting out of your body. Please watch out with the soft foods. You'll get hungry faster. Try to get your Protein in first. I started to p/u a frappicino the other day. But I looked at the calories. Wow! Empty calories! I didn't think it would be worth having to sweat for. A few months ago, I wouldn't have even wondered about the calories. I'm also sleeping sounder than I have in years. Best of luck to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
