condanchri 16 Posted February 4, 2013 Yep, I'm gong on my own (I was supposed to have my mom with me, but my dad got sick this weekend). Guess that's why I'm a bit nervous.

condanchri 16 Posted February 6, 2013 I had my surgery this afternoon (didn't think about how excruciating the wait would be when you don't go first!! Lol). In talking with Dr. Aceves.tonight, he said that I had a large amount of scar tissue on my stomach from my former lap band (got it in 2004, had it removed in 2008 because it was ruining my life). He said I made him work really hard during my surgery, because he released all the scar tissue, then removed it before actually making my sleeve. He said that not all surgeons take the time to do that. I am so overjoyed in choosing Dr. Aceves. I am hanging in there - the first day is the worst. Thank you so much for ALL the wonderful wishes of luck and positive thoughts that have been coming my way

Ms.AntiBand 2,984 Posted February 6, 2013 Congrats! And don't forget to have fun while you're there! Ask your ordinator to take you shopping, sightseeing and maybe to the beach if you're up to it. We had a blast down there
