angelamarie79 41 Posted February 3, 2013 Hi all....I was sleeved on 1/21/13. I'm feeling very frustrated right now. I feel like I can eat too much. I'm on the pureed food stage and for Breakfast I can eat 8oz of cream of wheat. For lunch I can eat 8oz of Soup and for dinner 8oz of retried Beans. I could def eat more if I wanted to. I'm ALWAYS hungry!!!!!!! I'm so disappointed with this surgery right now. Then I hear ppl say they can only eat 2oz of food and they are stuffed it makes me want to cry. It seems like an hour after I eat...I get hungry again. Has this happened to anyone else? I just don't understand it and I'm getting really depressed at this point 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Alabamasleever 58 Posted February 3, 2013 Are you on a PPI? Like prilosec, prevacid, etc?
No game 14,437 Posted February 3, 2013 You just had surgery.. Your stomach is still numb Please measure your food! You may not be able to "feel" anything yet but the restriction will come when you heal more! And Protein based foods will fill you up more than Soups and cream of wheat. angelamarie79 41 Posted February 3, 2013 Yes I take a prilosec every morning.
KarissaKhaos 170 Posted February 3, 2013 6 months out I can only eat 3oz max, depending on the food. I think your tummy is numb and still in shock so you're not feeling the fullness. Instead of eating until you're full, measure your food.
angelamarie79 41 Posted February 3, 2013 I will try that. My nutritionist said about a half a cup is about right at my stage so I will try that. I just hate being so hungry all the time!!!
No game 14,437 Posted February 3, 2013 Try a soft boiled egg or at that stage I wanted meat so bad I gave in and puréed some chicken with gravy! It looked gross but it was warm and filling!

And that was when I had just been sleeved. Now I'm going into my 4th month and I'm down well over 100lbs. You will be fine your body will let you know when it is full. Everyone's body tells them in different way but u will learn your signs
lilbearzmom 584 Posted February 3, 2013 I agree with everyone else- also you are in the pureed food stage- it's not until the regular/soft food phase where you are eating the dense Protein that you won't be able to eat more than 2-3 oz. pureed foods like the ones you mentioned are all slider foods and you will be able to eat alot more of those and not feel full. Don't worry! It's normal! You will see! -Kendra 1 Butterthebean reacted to this
jennyannk73 20 Posted February 3, 2013 I had the same exact thing going on. , I really felt like I could eat more than anyone else, but after awhile that certainly changed. , I get full very quickly now!
angelamarie79 41 Posted February 3, 2013 Hi Dquarles!! thanks for letting me know that! Did u eventually just start eating less because your stomach healed or because u are trying to eat less? I'm so scared I'm not going to keep loosing
sramos89 260 Posted February 3, 2013 The first time you eat a piece of grilled chicken you will totally understand! It is a entirely different feeling than soft foods- it will shock you! My first real food was a grilled chicken nugget from chic fil a and I could not finish 1 one inch piece of chicken. Amazing. Before I ate that chicken I was hungry all the time, nothing made me feel full- you are doing perfect! This stage won't last long and before you know it you will be thin and eating normal. And I stated eating less b/c I started to fill full to the point it hurt. Today I had a chicken wing. 1 in I was super full.
