karebear0221 1 Posted February 2, 2013 Hi! I was sleeved on 1/23/2013 and I am feeling great! I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't even need pain meds after I got out of the hospital. The strangest part about after surgery for me is smelling food and my brain wants to eat it but my stomach is not physically hungry. I guess that's something I'll get used to over time. Is that common with anyone else? My full time job right now is making sure I get my four ounces of liquid per hour. I've had two follow ups with my surgeon and he says I'm doing fantastic. I'm so happy I made this decision! Looking forward to getting to know you all! Karen
danyelleb 386 Posted February 2, 2013 Hi and welcome to the loser's bench! It sounds like your healing well and everything is chugging along. I remember being affected by smells as well. Just hang in there. If I thought I was really hungry than I would try to drink some Water or a little Protein Shake. I couldn't get much in and that was a chore. It's a good physical reminder that our tummies physically cannot eat and handle all the good things that we are so hyper sensitive to. Great job with your liquid! Don't forget to be mindful of your protein! Lastly, enjoy the weight loss!
gmanbat 5,889 Posted February 2, 2013 Welcome!! It sounds like it is going well for you. Fantastic! Yup, the nose is willing but the stomach has disconected the hunger response for now. Still works in the brain, though. Sounds like your sleeve is going to be a good friend.
