Aubrey600 1 Posted February 1, 2013 Did anyone have a low TSH level in their pre-op blood work and if so, did this delay surgery? Thanks
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted February 1, 2013 Old ranges used to be .5-5 for "normal" TSH... Some labs will still point out a TSH of .5 as being "low" but most endocrinologists now consider all the way down to .3 to be normal unless you're presenting with other symptoms. On the other end of the spectrum, many endos are treating for subclinical hypothyroidism starting at a TSH of 3.5 if presented with other symptoms.
Aubrey600 1 Posted February 1, 2013 Mine is 7 so I guess that would actually be "high" but it would be hypothyroidism
