Harpo 30 Posted February 1, 2013 I'm scheduled for surgery 2/26. I love my hot tub....my new one gets delivered any day now. I soak for an hour or so about 3 times/week. I keep it really hot, and each time I get in, I sweat off about 2 pounds. My question: since my new stomach will be so small, will I be able to replace all the lost Water? Or, will this be dangerous for me because of dehydration?
iggychic 1,405 Posted February 1, 2013 Typically for both infection reasons and dehydration issues you will be advised to not get into a hot tub for some time, at minimum until your wounds are healed. Ask your doc about this. I had a time limit but I don't remember what it was because I hate the things
Lander 74 Posted February 1, 2013 It will be several weeks before you can even get in it. Have to wait for ALL the incisions to be completely healed first. After that, you'd better be taking in at least the 64 oz. the doctor requires per day. After that, I think it's a question ONLY your doctor can give you an educated answer on. andthen 18 Posted February 1, 2013 I specifically asked about this right before my surgery and was told two weeks - but you'll want to make sure you are well hydrated.
sars 7 Posted February 1, 2013 I had to wait 2 weeks. We keep ours at about 98 and I only stay for about 45 min. Make sure you get your liquids in first
