I'm 7 weeks out and I've hit a stall again. I've been the same for 2 weeks any suggestions on how to break this stupid stall? I have lost 31 lbs so far but its taken me a month to lose 8-10 lbs ..I'm getting really discouraged

I completely understand your frustration. I stalled out at 7 weeks also......and am still stalled out at 11 weeks. Haven't lost a lb. to speak of. I keep fluctuating 3-5 lbs each day. I'm ready to pull my hair out (if it wasn't already falling out, thank you very much anesthetic!). Everything I have read says it will get moving again when the old body is ready to. I just wish it would happen soon!

I think that is one of the BIGGEST frustrations for ALL of us during this process. BUT, with that being said, most of all of us hit plateaus all the time. I hit a plateau for the entire MONTH of January :( . But I am not discouraged because I know I am doing all the right things- exercise and good diet. I think our bodies just have a different idea about adjusting to our weight loss. Especially since I have never lost weight this fast before- I think my body is freaking out a bit. You will totally get through this- hang in there! You will start losing again and if you aren't losing- I have noticed my clothes fit better even if the scale isn't moving. Thanks for your post. Keep up what you are doing! Butterthbean (a wise member) has a link regarding plateaus- check it out. http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
