I have not had a fill since January and that had been my only one. After going back to my Dr and re comitting to a healthy band lifestyle I got my second fill. I told my Dr that I never really felt any restriction with my first fill so I guess he really made sure I would feel it this time! It is my 2nd day on Clear Liquids and I can just barley sip to get them to stay down! I am sooo thirsty but I cannot drink Water like I need to. I have even been PBing in my sleep waking up with Fluid coming out of my mouth and nose...yes nose! What I am worried about is am I going to get tighter in the next week or so? Or will this all calm down? Am I bad for wanting to stay super tight so I CANNOT eat? Thanks for any responses.

No your not bad at all, I went through the samething with my last fill. The first one I felt no restriction and boy the second wow what a difference. I couldn't keep anything down including Water. That has been almost two weeks now and still I have to be very very careful. Only tiny tiny bites of food and sips of water. I was waking up at night feeling like I was going to PB but nothing was in my tummy to actually come out except for saliva. I stuck it out called my doc finally after about a week of this and he told me just to be very careful that this was a learning stage that I had to go though.

You should not allow yourself to be overfilled. It is not normal not to be able to drink and eat in moderation. Not being able to keep liquids down is not good and overfills lead to other complications. Some have reported reflux, slippage, etc. from being overfilled.

It will not get better by waiting for weeks. I would go in and get a slight unfill. Consult with your doctor, but it isn't good to stay this way too long.

I don't think this is a good situation, and believe you could be over filled.

15 months post op, and six fills total, never had that extreme a reaction.

I always noticed a difference, and some more so than others, but had a normal dinner usually that night. Also the fills I had were never more than

one or two tenths at a time, and never closer than a month together, usually 3-4 months apart. Like I say, I believe you may have gotten too much to quickly. I base my opinion (and I stress opinion) cause I'm no doctor, on my experience, and my mentoring of other bandsters here locally.

15 months post op.

201 pounds lost, at goal!

Life is good!

I have been TOTATLY miserable being this tight! I am at the point I can hardly hold down sips of room temp water! I have an appt with my Dr first thing tomarrow! I just wish I had done it sooner...I just kept thinking it would loosen up a tad. Man have I been sick!!!! Word to the wise it is better to be to loose than too tight!

Good luck tomorrow. You will feel so much better getting a slight unfill. You should feel it almost immediately. You will be able to drink normally and life will be good.

I have found that I have to get small fills. I don't get over .3 at a time. Others can get .5 or more and be just fine. Not me. I also don't react until about 6-10 days after a fill.

Everyone is different and you will learn what works for you. However, don't let yourself go too long being overfilled. Its not good for you. Glad you took that step to get an unfill.

Feel better soon.

Boy reading this makes me realize I only thought I was tight on my last fill!!!! I am so sorry you went through this, I have read where people actually wake up choking and can't imagine this happening, and I hope it NEVER does happen to me.

My last fill was very tight but I did wait it out and glad I did because it did loosen up, as it always had in the past. But never would I except the choking in my sleep.< /p>

Hope your doing better by now.

i can tell you that i am experiencing something close. i had my second fill on a 4cc band friday. I was not able to do anything but fluids as well. Cream of wheat was my first trial on Sunday as i just needed something more than a Protein Shake. Last night i had about 2 tbsps of mashed potatoe, 10 canned greenbeans, and about1/2 ounce of chicken shredded in my coffee grinder. It took me almost 45 min to eat that and it was a bit painful. I ate little tiny bites. I learned alot from my new doc that i didnt from the first fill doc. but i was not allowed to eat anything even soft actually until tommorrow, i have been truly very careful. I did PB a bit and came close to upchucking once. it seems to be calming down. Cold Jello is very soothing by the way:hungry:

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
