measureofme 175 Posted January 31, 2013 Hey all. This is my first day of the pre-op Clear liquids only diet. I have a headache growing. Of course I cannot take Advil/Tylenol... did you have this and how did you combat it? Thanks!
VSGKirk 855 Posted January 31, 2013 Totally normal, especially if you have given up caffeine as part of the pre-op diet plan. I felt a little flu-like initially, but I always felt that way (first few days) everytime I started a low carb diet.
JuliannaJ 83 Posted January 31, 2013 I had such a tough time pre-op and slipped a little but post op is definitely easier!
juny 93 Posted January 31, 2013 It might be low sugar, my dr recommended a couple swigs of some juice to get it back up if I was feeling like that. I did a little yesterday because of the headache but tonight I'm doing ok. Really not enjoying this preop, hoping for better things on the other side. kristikay 60 Posted January 31, 2013 You can't take Advil but Tylenol should be okay for the headache.

I think it's because it doesn't feel like a diet AND I haven't experienced hunger yet. Hang in there, it's worth it!

DonnaK. 5 Posted January 31, 2013 If you need something OTC for pain, CVS actually has liquid Tylenol in Adult strength. If you can't find it, you can use children's Tylenol, chewable or liquid. 1 SmilinNC reacted to this
