Surgery was 7 days ago, I haven't had any pain killers all day, but every time I sit or lay down I fall asleep. A really deep sleep. I haven't seen any posts about anyone else doing this. It's kinda worrying me.

Yes, it's normal! I slept a lot first couple of weeks after surgery!

I absolutely could not stay awake while in the hospital. I would have my little cup of Water the day after surgery sipping from it, and wake up with it spilled on me. My mom came to the hospital three days and all she did is watch me sleep. Not sure if it was a reaction to the anesthesia or if I was just really tired. LOL

I think it's normal - I slept alot too. I'm 4 weeks post-op and still have to take a little catnap when I get home from work.

Thank you all so much, I was really worrying.

Plus I tried creamy Tomato Soup today and felt like I was carrying around a bowling ball. I would like to only deal with one issue at a time. Lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
