thepick4u 8 Posted February 5, 2013 I recommend consulting a personal trainer or finding one of the many knowledge filled folks at a local gym. Many are usually more than willing to help you learn to do things safely and properly so you don't hurt yourself. My doctor pushes lifting weights as soon as he releases you from surgery @ 3 weeks. For both sexes. The more muscle you have the higher your metabolic rate is and the faster you burn calories even while resting. Goodmluck.
