Ooh, I thought of another. I won't miss having a regular size bath towel be too small to wrap around my body.

I won't miss worrying about my kids friends making fun of me. That hasn't happen but I do worry about it. And my kids getting their feelings hurt.

I agree, that has happened to me too...felt horrible the first time I found out and I could tell it bothered my son.

-Dreading the thought of a swimsuit

-Being the "fat one"

-Not being able to buy at the cool stores

-not being able to use heels

-being "chubby but cute"

Pain in my feet upon standing up

Taking out small items on furniture with my hips when I walk by

People giving me a wide birth

Shrinking into airplane seats

Not living

I love these topics...they help me to stay on track about WHY I want to get this done. I'm sure I'm repeating here, but here is my list:

*How hard it can be to turn over in bed, and how if I do it a lot one night I will wake up sore.

*How difficult a 12-hour nursing shift is on me, and how much pain medicine I have to take after one.

*How much I can eat and how fast food disappears, and the example that is to my family.

*How over the years you start to make fun of yourself so you can make people laugh with you instead of at you.

*I will not miss feeling like a sack of potatoes with no shape.

*Ditto ditto on the plus size stores!!! Paying 10 dollars more for an item that only has 4 more inches of fabric!

*How my tummy pushes my legs out to the side when I sit down, thus making my hips hurt during the day.

*How I notice people's eyes straying to my gut while they think I'm not watching them.

*Comments like, "You know, she's about YOUR size."

*Becoming too tired, sore, winded, etc to get anything done I really wanted to-like gardening projects.

*How I will never receive a compliment, not even if I have a whole new outfit on. No one notices.

*How when a thin girl so much as wears a new headband she will get compliments all day.I WILL be the thin girl!

*Feeling that I am not part of the "group", being ignored when I talk, partly because of my own inferiority complex.

*Not being able to have a subtle style and have it appreciated-no more need for BIG jewelry or LOUD clothes-unless I want to. I do like bright color and beautiful jewelry, but sometimes it's because small things are lost on me.

*Being the one who can't go swimming, fearing riding things because I won't fit, not being able to horseback ride.

When you think about it, people...wow....this has been such a HUGE part of our whole lives, anything we thought about doing, we thought about this damned fat issue FIRST. No wonder so many of us have problems with self esteem or psych issues!

There are so many things I am looking forward too!!

I can't wait to go to an amusement park this summer and take my son on rides!

Going to normal clothing stores instead of big and tall....

Going on hikes without being tired or the last one there...

Being able to sit in regular seats wherever I go....

I won't miss...

Getting on a horse and it looking back at me like it's asking, "really? Who should be riding who?"

So many of these posts I really can relate' date=' but I feel like avoiding pictures even ones with my family at outings makes me the most emotional. My son once asked me where I was at when looking at the photos. My answer...someone had to take the pic. I missed documenting my life and my life with my kids...have a lot of make up to do...

Post Op gift thoughts for myself...

A Nice Camera

Active Calendar full of Memorable Events!![/quote']

I absolutely understand. I like your gift ideas :)

Haha! Okay, I've totally been there and it feels awful. But they way you worded it, it sounds funny.

I won't miss

being suffocated by my enormous boobs when I bend over to tie my shoes.

Freaking out when my shirts accidentally go in the dryer.

Not fitting in (pun intended) with groups of people due to my size. And yes I have an inferiority complex.

Being paranoid about eating in front of others.

Jeans with holes in the thighs due to chub rub.

And all of the other things already listed.

Wow that made me sad because i was always able to do those things. I fit comf. In seats and went on rides at Hershey park. I was able to ride them all without weight limits etc. i did dress nice for a size 18/20 but everything you all described would eventually happen had i not had this surgery. I may not have experianced those limiting things but its a given it wouldve happened to me. I am 6 days post op and cannot believe i had the courage to go thru but ive lost 12 lbs since surgery. Its ok by me its only Water.< /p>

I will not miss cleaning the house in small jobs at a time. Not walking more than a hour before my feet hurt. Plus size stores and plus size shoes. Not the fat mom at school and my youngest son telling me that if I was thinner that I would not be sick all the time. I have RA and do get sick more than I use to. It will nice to be me!

I agree with the huge boobs thing. I wont miss not being able to sleep on my back cuz my huge boobs suffocate me. To not have to buy braws every six months because my heavy boobs and wide back wear them out.

Oh does damn shirt buttons. I wont miss the gap i get when i wear a button up shirt.

I wont miss looking like a potato sack tied by the middle. I wont miss the painful marks jeans leave on my waist because they are to tight when i sit.

I wont miss the muffin top or the back rolls

I won't miss the looking in the mirror and not liking my reflection! I am tired of the tiny head and linebacker look! @ Susie 1226 LOL!!! I needed that laugh! I won't miss all the "What u need to do is...........!" I won't miss the losing and gaining the same 40-50 pounds! I won't miss the "old lady clothes!" I can't wait to be sleeved!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
