While i was watching this weeks Biggest Loser episode i was remembering what i used to do in the years past while watching. My typical routine used to be that i would order a pizza, french fries, & 1/2 steak and cheese sub and eat as much as i could. I ordered al of that so the delivery guy would think i was ordering for my whole family- too embarrassed to have them think i was about to stuff my face for the next hour. my kids would be asleep already and that night happened to be the night my husband worked really late. It's amazing to watch now and i actually take notes on new exercises to put into my exercise routine! Feel so blessed to have this new life....

I hate that they "kick" people off of the show. I think everyone should be able to stay the whole time!

That sounds like my routine for watching tv in the past as well...here's to a more healthy lifestyle!

I love that show! I have watched it since season 1 and always wished I could lose weight like them! Last night while we (my husband and I) were watching it from our DVR he actually said "oh wow Kel you're loasing weight like biggest loser fast" and it occured to me I kinda am!!!!

And let me tell you how much money I would pay to be Dani right now! To have Jillian all to myself! She is a lucky girl! I would love to have Jillian as a trainer!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
