MrMarc 0 Posted January 30, 2013 Hi all, today im going in for my first consultation. i'm a bit worried. my bmi has dropped under 40. ik now this is really a good thing, but im worried my insurance will have issue. the bulletin states bmi must be recorded as over 40 for 24 months. I have record of it being over 35, but not over 40. has anyone had similar experience? were they approved anyway?
massindex 346 Posted January 30, 2013 Do you have other factors such high blood pressure, sleep apnea or diabetes?
MrMarc 0 Posted January 30, 2013 I've never been tested for any. Blood pressure is high. But the bulletin on aetnas website indicates it must be 140/90 despite using anti hypertensive agents.
massindex 346 Posted January 30, 2013 Take it step-by-step. Even if you are denied you can appeal and your doctor can help you manage that process. They are very good at 'structuring' and 'interpreating' the data to meet insurance requirements. Don't go this alone and work directly with the doctor.
