Mag citrate. Senokot&MOM. Suppository? But increasing Fiber is better than training your system to rely on laxatives. Fiber gummies or chewable. I lace my crystal light with fiber powder.

Wish you all the best!

I used of those as well and nothing....finally I used suppositories and it worked. It took me making sure I was getting in At least 64 oz of flluids to get some relief. My surgeon was very clear after my post op appt. that all of those colon helpers work by drawing the fluids to that part of our bodies. If we are not drinking enough (and I was not) then these helpers will not work. I honestly felt like I was passing rocks and that is no lie. When I was at 2 month out and drinking Decaf coffee in the morning it helped me lots. Needless to say I drink the decaf coffee daily. For me it is normal to go every two days. Hope this helps you some. Forgive me if it was a bit to graphic. Best Wishes Tina

Fiber is always best but also there is kondremul. It's emulsified mineral oil not a laxative. Just in case you don't want laxative solutions.

Thanks I bought Metamucil Clear and Natural today. The pharmacist said it would probably be best with the gastric sleeve surgery. I ask about the other one, she said you needed to drink a big glass of Water with the kondremul. I explained I couldnt hold over about 2 or 3 oz. so she told me the Metamucil would probably be better. We will see if not I will get the other one. I am seeing alot about skinny fiber. I don't know nothing about it other than you can take it with gastric sleeve surgery, its expensive and suppose to help with weight loss.

I have that Metamucil clear and natural and I like it. I mix it into the last few swallows of my g2 and it doesn't throw the taste off at all. Works good too.

The MOM didn't work by itself for me but when I took that and prune juice for two days straight it worked. I only did about 4 oz of prune juice and 1 tablespoon twice a day and finally I was able to make something happen.

I know you were looking for a cleanse, but for getting fiber my doctor suggested chia seeds. Like the ones used on chia pets. Lol! They are a good source of fiber, natural, and go well in smoothies with a scoop of Protein too!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
