Jessica Fenton Parks 4 Posted January 29, 2013 My name is Jessica I live in Texas I had the gastric sleeve surgery done two weeks ago today. I also had a hiatal hernia that had to be fixed lets just say it was a very rough recovery for me for the first 5 days. I am doing much better now. I am still trying to figure how much I can eat and different ideas on what to eat. I have lost 17lbs so far some days I don't loose anything which I get disappointed about but I know it will eventually come off. I look forward to talking with many of you and getting lots of info. I tried to find some pictures but sadly enough I can't find any right now I would also be the one taking the pictures because I didn't want to be in the picture. I will try and find one and hopefully I will start taking more pictures of myself now. Have a great day! Jessica
massindex 346 Posted January 29, 2013 Welcome! First suggestion - throw out the scale! Not really but you will have stalls and they will seemingly last forever. Stick to the plan and you will be successful. Enjoy your life and rock your sleeve!
ProudGrammy 8,322 Posted January 29, 2013 gastric sleeve two weeks ago hi Tex (aka newbie ) glad you are feeling better after having hernia operation at same time as sleeve - that must be difficult to deal with recovery - but you did it congrats on your weight loss, many more lbs will follow, as well as your improved health and happiness best not to weigh yourself daily - then won't be disappointed if you don't lose weight one day - wait for a "surprise" each week when you find out that you've lost but if you didn't lose weight one week, thats ok - the world WON'T come to an end - their are stalls you will read more about them i know what you mean about pictures i used to hid from the camera too sounds like you don't have a NUT, am i right???? do you know the important Water rules ?? don't drink for 1/2 hr before you eat - don't drink while you eat, don't drink 30-45 minutes after you eat - and drink at least 64 oz of water can your surgeons office direct you to a support group??? or you can look into a group on your own - this type of support can be very helpful - and others can give good info about your eating questions but keep coming back to this board - you'll get plenty of info here we don't bite (not usually ) continued speedy good recovery see you around the block
