soup question - 2 weeks out

Recommended Posts

Day 13 and all in all going well. Worst is the extreme dry mouth especially on the CPAP at night - but otherwise good

When eating like cottage cheese, easy to know when I am full, and while sipping, I can go thru water/crystal light surprisingly fast

However, just had lunch which was lowfat cream of butternut Soup. I ordered the small but it must have been 3/4 cup to a cup expecting I would stop at half - but I ate it all.

I feel full and satiated, but not overly so. Kinda concerned 2 weeks out that I was able to eat that much.

Anyone else have a similar experience? I thought my pouch was just a few ounces - cause I know I ate more than that.

Is it that as a liquid basically it is passing thru the pyloric value quick?

I have noticed that depending on the thickness of the Soup is when I feel full. I was out and ordered won ton soup gave the dumplings to the kids and had the broth. They brought 4 bowls to the table. I ate almost all the broth and didn't have that full feeling. A few days ago I was at another resturant an had cream if broccoli soup that was thick and I was stuffed in a few bites. I would assume that if the soup was more on the thin side that it acted more like a liquid and that's why you didn't get that full feeling.

Yes, liquid does go down more easily. And everyone heals a little differently too. Some people have more swelling and for them even fluids are a struggle at first. When you are able to eat a solid Protein you'll find how much restriction you truly have.

yeah I dont think you have anything to worry about. The Soup is just running though the sleeve, especially if you took it slow. That is why we are supposed to swear off anything we need a spoon for after the healing period of time.
