What about the pizza?

Recommended Posts

Hi I was just banded Oct 31st and Im currently going through my post operation 2 week liquid diet. Lapband hell!!! But its all good Ive already lost 40 pounds starting pre-op. I was curious about pizza, I know doughy breads give us a hard time but I was wondering if anybody still eats pizza? Do you fill up on 1 slice? 2 slices? I used to be able to eat about 6 or 7 slices so I wonder, If I eat one slice and fill up, will I still be head hungry?

Can you tell I'm craving now!

I can do pizza....one piece of a large...about 1/8th of a pizza. It doesn't cause me a problem as long as I take small bites and chew well....and take my time. I'm careful to select a pizza without all the extra fat....usually just Tomato sauce, cheese, and veggies. This fills me for about 2 hours if I don't drink while eating. Congrats on your weight loss so far.

I could do thin crust, but that was before my last fill. So I don't know if I could or not now.

It's kind of one of those things trying to not find out if I can eat it or not! I'm not sure I want to know that I can.

Hi,

I eat pizza occasionally. Its always thin crust and sort of crunchy since the doughy kind is really hard to eat. Besides, I prefer the toppings and the cheese anyway, so if I eat it, I usually have one piece and then eat the toppings off a couple of others.

I too can still eat pizza, but only ONE small piece of pizza (about a 1/10 of a large pizza). I too used to eat about 6-7 pieces of deep dish pizza at one setting, so I am always amazed when I feel like I am about to explode after eating one small piece.

Like others have said, I can only eat the very thin crust that is baked and is extra crispy, almost like a cracker thin crust (I never used to like pizza this way before, but at least I can eat one piece once in a while if I submit to eating this way:rolleyes: ). I also have to take it very slow, and cut each bite into eraser size bites. I can eat whatever toppings on it if I eat it like this.

I love pizza!! I eat the thin crust pizza from Papa John's and do just fine with it. Thick crust, no way, but thin crust is good. Depending on how restricted I am, I can eat 1 to 1 1/2 pieces in a sitting.

I have good restriction, and can eat pizza, in limited amounts. If I do a regular or pan crust, I can only eat about 1/2 a slice, and I have to eat it with plenty of toppings. If I do thin crust I can eat a whole slice...but nothing more!! I like everyone else could put it away prior to banding!!! It is something we eat on occasion, but not something I crave anymore. I find myself craving the things I can actually eat, that are good for me!!! I think someone banded my brain too sometimes. Then I remember there is leftover Halloween candy, and I know I am still the old me!!!

I can eat the thin and crispy crust. We always get the one with bell pepper, mushrooms, onion, black olives, etc... the variety of textures seems to help. I can eat 2 slices of a medium, but I usually end up picking mostly the toppings off and ditching most of the crust.

Yeah, I can eat thin crust, gourmet style pizzas, which is all I ever would have eaten anyway. I wouldnt touch anything like pizza hut with its thick gooey base with a barge pole and the thought of cheese filled crusts makes me want to barf, lol.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
