sleeve_sister 110 Posted January 28, 2013 My hubby currently has a lap band and will be sleeved this summer. He is a truck driver as well. Your going to LOVE the sleeve! My hubby gained all his weight when he was OTR, fortunately he's local and home every night now.

sleeve_sister 110 Posted January 29, 2013 My husband works 6 days and anywhere from 10-14 hours so he basically comes home to eat and sleep. I cook his meals (most of them) and he takes his lunch. If he Snacks he snacks on Protein. He keeps beef and turkey Jerky in his truck so he doesn't come home hungry and eat everything in site. Now that I've had the sleeve he knows he's not going to have a big portion at home so he makes sure he doesn't come home hungry. Could be dangerous, especially since he gets a free meal with a fill up, but he won't be able to do that much longer. Once your sleeved, you won't even think about how food will control your life, because it won't. We have a gym membership, but he rarely goes because he works so much. Since I don't work, I go every morning to keep busy. You'll find other "hobbies." Good luck!
coexist23 82 Posted January 29, 2013 My husband is a auto hauling trucker for PMTG. He is only home about 6 days a month. He and I are both overweight. Eating on the road, with very little exercise is his problem. Being a mostly-single mom, my issue is eating while bored and being lonely. Trucking is a hard life for sure. Good luck with your surgery and your journey.
