I'm looking for a Protein that I can put in things like unflavored and I came across these and the Unjury chicken Soup. Can anyone tell me their experience with them? Nasty taste? I am about to throw up even thinking about some nasty flavors and brands I've tried!!!

I haven't tried the Unjury but I've heard good things. You might want to take a lookie on Amazon.com's reviews. That might help too!

I do NOT like unjury "unflavored" at all. *shiver* The chicken Soup is good though. Don't get it too hot!

I'm not a huge fan of Isopure...

I use Unjury Soups, unflavored Protein, etc. and like them. I have never tried Isopure. Have used Pro diet and Pure Protein Bars now that I'm further out.

I have used the Unjury unflavored and chicken Soup and I like both. I have tried 6 different flavors of Isopure and they're pretty gross.

From what I've read the majority of people say Isopure is gross. I havent had surgery yet so I have bought some Unjury samples (unflavored and the chicken broth) and the Syntrax medical unflavored to try after surgery. Once I figure out after surgery what I like I'll purchase a larger amount.

I like Unjury unflavored mainly because it can be heated up to 140' where others I looked at were lower. Not sure how hot Isopure can go. I add it to my Soups and even my tea to get a little Protein. It does have a slight smell out of the tub but it fades enough for me when I mix it.

You need to try some single serving packs to see what you like. Everyone's taste is different.

The "unflavored" Unjury is yucky in smell and taste (to me) but is ok to mix a little (not a whole scoop... blech!) in Soups. I like both chocolate flavors. I have the vanilla but havent tried it yet. I don't like the strawberry. Whatever the artificial sweetener they use in Unjury flavored took some getting used to for me. I've tried Designer whey pre-mixed chocolate which is pretty good.

I ordered the sample packet of unjury. I have tried the chicken and unflavored yet, but I like the chocolate and vanilla. The strawberry not so much.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
