I'm wearing pantihose again!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm wearing pantihose again!!! YEAH!!! I was banded on Oct.3rd and haven't worn pantihose in years. I love the way control tops make me feel but I haven't been able to put them on cause of my tummy in the way. I've now lost 30 pounds and decided to try them today. I put them on with minimal difficulty.YEAH!!!! I feel like a woman again.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Well ya know, I still have to say congrats, but I have to add this:

I HATE PANYHOSE!!!!!!

They make my legs itch, even if I have shaved.. its a creepy feeling. They make me feel like a grouchy itchy woman :success1:

BUT hey, fitting it to a pair comfortably, thats still an accomplishment!!!!!

:)

Congratulations llewis on your NSV....however, I'm with Wavydaby....I hate pantyhose too. Did the corporate scene for over 30 years and got so sick and tired of pantyhose. The burning inner thighs from them rubbing, the sweating, the stinky feet.....and yes, I bathed on a regular basis....LOL.

I hope I never have to do the pantyhose thing again. I wear very dressy formal pant suits when attending functions like Weddings.....they sometimes look like a female version of a tux.

Again, congrats.....I'm happy for you.

That is a great NSV for you. I have to agree with the others though, I am an official member of the panyhose hater club too! They are so uncomfortable and guarantee if I put on a pair, it will be run within an hour. I prefer wearing dressy slacks with trouser socks. I am a comfort-minded kind of gal. :success1:

Congratulations! That's a great NSV. I'm with you -- pantyhose make me feel very feminine and like I look better in clothes. I should get a pair out and try them on....

yea, you go girl, you mean you actually got them on without putting your fingers through them trying to TUG them up :biggrin1: way to go!!!!

I have to admit, I hate the things too, it's entirely too HOT in Texas to wear pantyhose.

I'm so pleased for you, I'm sure this is the first of many successes

I wear panyhose all the time to control the tummy, i'm looking foward to no having to wear them with all my dressy stuff. I like the look of open toe heals without pantyhose! gotta show off that super cute pedi that costs me an arm and a leg!

Great NSV. I wear 'em, but I secretly believe they're another male devised torture device like bras and high-heeled shoes. LOL

Way to go on your NSV...if I could ever find panty hose that were big enough for the tummy but not too long I might give them a try again...5'3" 287lbs...no panty hose fit well...maybe I should try now that I'm down 72lbs...

I hate them, but I must admit I don't like the look of bare legs and dresses except for cute little casual sun dresses.

Keep up the good work those NSV's will make you feel even better than the SV's!!!!

Hi vlb11752,

I'm 5'2" and began at 295 pounds, now down to 264. I'm wearing No Nonensense control tops and love them. The most trouble I had putting them on was getting them over my toes. I have 2 artificial knees and they don't bend as well as real knees. :)

To everyone else...I had no idea that women hate pantihose so much! I've always loved them. Especially the sexy looking ones with lace. My hubby likes those too.I remember crying in 5th grade because my mom wouldn't buy hose for me. :) Maybe it's because I'm light-skinned and hate to see my white legs sticking out from under anything. I have to work all summer to get the slightest tan.

Anyways...I can't wait until I can cross my legs too!!!

Randi....I have a tendency to lose quickly, I lost a significant amount on the pre and the post op diet. For a few months I was averaging 2 - 3 lbs / week after that. Now, I'm averaging about .5 lb per week and quite happy about that.

I eat normal foods now but very little. I avoid food that slides down easy with empty calories like ice cream.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
