boatdays 18 Posted January 28, 2013 My surgery was 1/21. I am taking off 2 weeks, using vacation days. If I had to return tomorrow (one week) I would be able to do so. The added week of rest will be helpful in healing. Pain and energy wise I could go back tomorrow. 1 alfordhe reacted to this

tpietrowski 102 Posted January 28, 2013 My doctor suggested two weeks but due to the fact that I run a company he said I should take one week off to make sure I get all the Fluid intake and concentrate on my post op care and the following week I could go back to work but only half days. He said his fear is that I will get too tired to be stranded at work so he suggested that I could get a ride into work and have my husband pick me up about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and go home to rest. bee13 44 Posted January 28, 2013 I am having my surgery on a Monday and I am returning to work the following Monday. Thankfully, I have a job where I can choose my activity level and I have a helper if I need to take a break.
alfordhe 0 Posted January 28, 2013 Good question' date=' I'm wondering the same thing.[/quote'] Absolutely just use FMLA surgery recovery is exactly what FMLA is made for ask you human resources and doctors they should help you out.
JennCH 19 Posted January 29, 2013 I had surgery on the 14th and went back to work today (2 weeks off). I am partly walking/standing and partly sitting. I could have gone back last week, but would have been tired.
Mozzy562 6 Posted January 30, 2013 Spoke to HR and they said its up to doctor and me. If I'm off more then two weeks then I will qualify for FMLA... I have my surgery next Wednesday and starting my diet as of today. The doctor took me off for two weeks just to help me with the transition period from liquids to soft foods... Good luck everyone!
