busymommy 12 Posted January 28, 2013 I'm about 7 weeks post op and while I have the desire for food, especially my old favorites, nothing tastes good. NOTHING, not even Water. Any suggestions?
Imjustmee 44 Posted January 28, 2013 I think that's pretty common for most sleevers. Maybe not the exact same but some sort of a change in the way food tastes. I find a lot of things taste sweeter to me now. Just do what you can to get your Protein in and stay hydrated and you're doing ok. The rest kind of falls into place. It's a learning process. TheGamer 406 Posted January 28, 2013 Give it time. While my stomach still prefers rather bland things (sensitive, like many are post-op), I am finally starting to eat a little more adventurously now. For the most part, though, what I eat is relatively plain. I eat a lot of chicken, fish, and dairy like cottage cheese and yogurt. I drank Water religiously before surgery, but found that after surgery, I can no longer tolerate the taste (or lack thereof). I exclusively drink tea (mostly herbal fruit tisanes) now and will only drink Water if there is absolutely nothing else. 1 Velena reacted to this
Teruah 3 Posted January 28, 2013 I know the feeling. Eating has become something I have to force myself to do now because nothing I eat tastes remotely edible. Good for the weight loss side but I liked food (hence needing the surgery) and sometimes I just miss how thing used to taste. 1 tigerbelle reacted to this
