katsmeow 70 Posted March 17, 2013 Do you think perming my hair would cause any damage to the hair? Or will it cause more hair to fall out?
Ms24 8 Posted March 20, 2013 My VSG is scheduled for February 11th and I am so very excited but there's 1 thing that is haunting me. I have long thick beautiful blonde hair and I am so deathly afraid of it falling out is there anything that I can do to prevent this from happening The key is Protein. I found this website on the web that has different brands of high-protein foods from Jell-O to rice crispy treats and more. All high-protein it's geared for gastric bypass patients. I will logon tomorrow and give you the name. How are you feeling otherwise?
aquitenonnymouse 206 Posted March 25, 2013 Make sure to keep your Protein levels up! I also take Biotin, folic acid, and my multi-vitamin... when I remember them.
NicholeRain 1 Posted March 25, 2013 me too! My hair is natural blonde, down to my butt. My husband loves it. I talked to the nut about this concern and she said lots of zinc, Iron, Biotin, and Protein can decrease Hair loss.< /p>
kyllfalcon 768 Posted March 25, 2013 I started taking Biotin, the higher dose, before surgery. Post-surgery I quickly got my Protein intake up to the required 60 grams and exceeded it, often getting well over 100 grams by a few months out. My dang hair still fell out. Not by handfuls, but one hair at a time. It didn't start until later than most people's loss, maybe at 8 or 9 months. I don't have any bald spots, but I do have thinning in the typical top of the head male pattern baldness spot. It stopped falling out at about 11 months, and has not yet started regrowth at 12 months. Fortunately, I started with a surplus of very thick hair. And my hair is very dry, where it never was before. And my skin is dry and my nails are thin and brittle and fragile. But this shall pass. I'm slathering it all with the best products I can find. It will be ok. It's not forever. And it is worth it. Fat with lots of thick beautiful hair? Or thin with not quite so much hair? Easy call. 1 amykins reacted to this
