I am a nanny for a family and they are wonderfully supportive of the surgery. We have even practiced having the 22 month old to get in the crib, because I won't be able to pick her up. That being said, I'm having surgery the week they are in Disney World. I am coming home from TJ, MX on a Friday and returning to work on the following Monday. Is this insane? I am so mentally and physically prepared (as best as I can be) and this is the only post-op non-food worry I have. I would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance!!

My surgeon said no lifting over 5 lbs. for 3 weeks, you don't want to cause a leak. He told the lady in my class that her grandchild would have to "crawl" up on her or be put on her lap, which she wasn't to thrilled about.

I was sleeved on the 17th and after a week I felt great. Depending on your pain you should be ok a week out. Make sure you walk walk walk to get that gas pain out that will help with the discomfort.

I'm worried about the same thing being I'll be at home with my 24 month old. I'm hiring a babysitter for 2-3 weeks for the hours I'll be alone with her... All depending how I feel. Dr. Says no lifting 2-4 weeks for risk of leak! I think your plan is really tough!

I'm also a Nanny to a 12 month old. My Surgeon told me I can't work for 2 weeks then for 2 weeks minimal lifting of the baby. He said he has never seen a tear from a patient lifting. I would wait 2 weeks if you can ;)

I am returning on a Saturday from TJ and will be flying to my client site to work on Monday. Yeah we both are bit insane, but I think it is doable.

Since I don't really have a choice, I will just have to work through it and sit down when I'm over doing it. Thankfully, my sister has offered to help with the kids that first week back, specifically with carpool and baths. :)

I was going to go back 5 days out, but ended up getting 2 weeks off instead. My stomach was still tender and I am glad I waited. Give it a shot and if you turkey don't feel up to it, talk to your employer and maybe you can get a few more days.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
