ScorpioMoon 1 Posted January 27, 2013 Any suggestions for Protein Shake with veg or Tomato base or stock. I am only on the pre op diet and my mouth is "crawling" from all the sweet. Thanks!
SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted January 27, 2013 I've read some mention that they use a good quality unflavored in Soups or vegetable juice. I have not tried this yet, but I'm getting some unflavored this week and ready to start experimenting. I CAN tell you that you don't want to add to super hot liquids.. or the Protein won't mix in. Also someone on here mentioned that you should give it a few minutes to let the flavors blend and it kind of takes away some of that "protein" flavor. Surgery is 8am in the morning, gotta be at the hospital at 6:30am. 1 Lisa'slosinit reacted to this
toylitpapr 50 Posted January 28, 2013 Today is day 1... I'm not hungry...just craving everything! I'm not sure how I'm going to choke these down for 13 more days. I just keep telling myself that this is temporary...the first step to improve the rest of my life. Sorry I don't have any advice but hang in there!
VSG Duck 40 Posted January 28, 2013 I hated Protein shakes! One of the only ones I could stand was Pumkin pie flavored. I added 1/3 cup canned pumpkin, 1 cup milk, some pumpkin pie spice and a scoop/ pack of vanilla Protein Powder (you could also add splenda or vanilla extract to taste) This was not too sweet and really hid the nasty protein flavor :-) I am nearly 4 months out now and I have been eating all my protein for some time now so don't worry this will end someday :-)
temeculamum 7 Posted January 28, 2013 It gets easier as the days pass. It was tough for me the first 4 days but then it became like second nature. I couldn't eat much prior to surgery because I was so nervous so the last week of all liquids was much easier for me.

HypnotizingHazel 39 Posted February 24, 2013 Try Knorr Caldo de Pollo bullion. It makes a yummy chicken broth. They also have a beef broth.
