What do u mean by "regular" foods ..... ?? Give examples of food you are consuming right now. Or do u mean you aren't pureeing?

Depends on what your surgeon advised. Some have patients eating regular food 2 weeks out, others make you wait 4-6 weeks.

Rice Beans & chicken

Beans and chicken are fine. Just take it easy. I'm not allowed rice for 9 months. You should prob just be sticking to 90-95% Protein at this stage

So if your NUT said no rice; you are eating rice. At this point I guess you will decide what you want to do. Are you looking for validation here to say it is okay to eat rice?

I think you should listen to the professionals, of which we are not.

Good Luck

i "think" Amazon meant to nicely say you should listen to what your NUT says, then you won't have any reason to question if you are going on the right path - but its always nice to receive a good luck encouragement, so i'm glad you received that :)

its true none of are professionals, we're just normal, wonderful sleevers like you :)

we give support and advice ,general conversation and good info too, and importantly we are here to support all - especially you Newbies - come on, come on - you know who you are!!!! :)

when there is something more medical/technical involved, we suggest you see your doc/or NUT :)

talk to your NUT about more suggestions to eat - at the beginning, and later too, it can be hard to get a good variety of food in

but, i know you can conquer all- you ARE on that right path - no wrong turns allowed

watch those road signs

eating small portions, exercising, losing 27 lbs Kudos!!!

talking to your NUT is always a good idea for info/reinforcement

good luck :)

IMO, yes, you are headed down the wrong path. Remember the first few months are when you have the most rapid weight loss.

I personally am 8months out & I still do not eat rice, bread, Pasta, potato, or fried foods. White carbs like these are immediatly turned into sugar, not to mention they trigger cravings for more of the like.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
